So I was planning on posting this as my “Five Things” Friday post, but I was feeling a little under the weather on Friday and had a girls night at a new mexican restaurant (I luurrrvvvv margaritas). And somehow, tequila made me feel better – doubtful, but Saturday I woke up feeling 100 times better. Who knew!
Yeah, probably the only time you will hear that!
Anyways, I wanted to share a few links to articles that I really connected with over the last week. Each of them revolves around exercise in some capacity – from training with a heart rate monitor to the best way to waste your time in a cycling class (truth). ENJOY!
If you’ve ever used a heart rate monitor to track or assess your training, it can get a bit confusing. This article from Competitor.com was spot on and very helpful!
Hit the snooze because muscle grows while you sleep… and other fun facts about the part of our body we are always trying to get more of – because, it’s true, muscle burns more than fat!
Think you need a lot of fancy equipment to get a good workout? That’s a negative. Use what your mama gave ya Squats, pushups, burpees, jumping jacks … the list goes on.
You look like an extra from the Hunger Games. Your feet are disgusting. You have more crap to lug around than a bag lady. Working out is great for you, but there are some nasty side effects.
I’m probably going to offend some people here, but put down the weights when you’re on the bike. Science doesn’t lie power = force x velocity. Like Jennifer said “JUST RIDE THE BIKE”.
Hope you had a great MONDAY!
What is something that you’ve recently learned about exercise?
