Right before my move, I received a package from PUMA to review their new shoes, Form Lite, and some apparel from their fitness line. I always love to try out new fitness clothes and shoes, so of course this package got me excited to put on some bright and shiny new sneaks and get sweating!
Let’s just take a moment to notice the packaging on these shoes! I’ve been reusing the box to move and now to store some fitness gadgets in. Although, I do use most of my shoe boxes to for storage, this was really different!
I wore the shoes for a few days, and honestly, at first I wasn’t a huge fan. First, the backs of the shoes are really high, so I got a few blisters. Then the color wasn’t my favorite. I know, I know – never pick shoes because of the color. But, seriously, black is so limiting – you have to wear black socks and they only look good with black pants.
Well, once I wore the shoes in a bit and got over my pickiness, I really enjoyed how they held up during the workout I created. Yep! I created a workout specifically to put these babies through the ringer. And guess what? They did their job.
Tabata is a form of high intensity interval training (HIIT). It is meant for intermediate to advanced exercisers and works by raising the heart rate intensely for short periods of time. In the end, you don’t have to workout as long to reap awesome benefits! Each Tabata round is 4 minutes – with 20 seconds of activity followed by 10 seconds of rest repeated 8x until the circuit is over.
The main reason I enjoyed the Formlite shoes was due to how light they were. When I run, I like a shoe to have some body to it and a lot of cushioning and stability. But when it comes to cross training and fitness shoes, the lighter the better for me!
A little bit more about the Formlite Shoes:
FormLite XT Ultra Women’s is lightest in class with an aerodynamic, 360 fit and flex. The midsole is a lightweight, injected eva with rubber pods for superior cushioning. comfort and stability. The outsole design is inspired by a feather. The cutouts provide 360 flexibility and weight reduction. The upper features a minimal, bonded construction that is breathable and form-fitting.
So thank you PUMA for the chance to try out the apparel and shoes! It was a lot of fun!
If you’re ever in doubt – plank it out!
