Tomorrow is the last day that I am doing the vegan thing from Crazy Sexy Diet full force. However there are a few things that I will be keeping from this lifestyle:
1) Green Juices! I’m a green juice girl foreva now ![]()
2) Eating less gluten. Even thought I love me some carbs, I’m going to be conscious about getting in some more gluten free grains
3) Focus of fruits and veggies for snacks. They fill you up for fewer calories and they are jam packed with nutrition…duh! But snacks are a great way to get in extra fruits and veggies to meet your 5 a day
Today I started feeling better and it wasn’t as difficult trying to find options. You can eat vegan and clean and still indulge (SURPRISE!!!)
Breakfast was on the go. Larabars are vegan and made from whole foods, so combining one with a banana gave me some awesome nutrition to jump start my day. Oh and I downed a half a glass of green juice that I made yesterday.
Most food bloggers will agree that it takes a little longer to get your food on the table than the normal folk.
Oh the life of a food blogger.
At least I scored this awesome picture of the salad I whipped up with leftovers.
I topped it with avocado, leftover black bean salsa mixture, sprouts, and cherry tomatoes. Yum!
Before heading to my second job, I knew I was going to need a quick bite to eat and I was craving sugar (surprise-sugar addict in residence)
Chocolate Peanut Butter Strawberry Smoothie
- 1/2 banana – frozen
- 5 large strawberries
- 1 TBSP chocolate peanut butter (I use Peanut Butter and Co)
- 3/4 cup coconut milk
- ice
It held me over and more! Getting done with work at 8pm, I still wasn’t extremely hungry for dinner when it was ready at 9…That’s a big win.
Day 4 Thoughts:
I’ve been enjoying the Crazy Sexy Challenge so far. It is definitely out of my comfort zone a little bit, which is the point. It was mean to stretch me to think about what I am putting into my body and get me back on track.
My eating habits haven’t been quite on par, and I felt this plan, even if just for a few days would help. I believe you can modify the tips in the book for whatever kind of challenge you want – 5 days, 10 days, 21, 6 months, your life?? Go with what makes you feel good.
I’ll probably add some coffee back into my life tomorrow. I’ve never been a guzzler of the joe, so I believe that my 1 – 2 cup per day habit is not detrimental to my health. It could be worse…I could be a crack addict
Here’s your funny for the day!
