Oh my goodness! I have to say that since I graduated back in June, I couldn’t have pictured how many changes would have taken place in such a short period of time. Let’s count them off…
1. Yoga teacher training —- check.
2. Find job — big fat happy check.
3. Take RD exam and pass — CHECK!
4. Find new apartment and move — check.
So it’s only 4, but my life doesn’t resemble anything that my life looked like back in May! Whoa baby! Change can be difficult, but I am very happy, albeit, a little nervous/excited. Who wouldn’t be so nervous when they’ve allowed their life to completely land on its head?
I’m making the transition from country girl (think State College/Mount Pleasant) to city girl (DC). It’s a whole new world. I can walk to a grocery store!? Go figure – and that grocery store is Whole Foods! RDs can only dream of such luck
I think I’ve been there 4 to 5 times now. You know, because you can never have too many avocados…
And I got out for a quick run the other day before work (because now I have time since I’m not driving 80 minutes to work). Although it’s the city, Friendship Heights and Chevy Chase have a neighborhood feel – well a neighborhood where your neighbors own mansions.
So what is one of the best things about moving? Getting to decorate, of course!
Mom and I had a lot of fun decorating my new apartment. A lot of it was in my other apartment, but got revamped we new rugs and new pictures. Never hurts to revamp and reinvent your space!
But most of my time since my move has been spent doing this. Soup, tea, and lemon water. Once the stress of moving and making so many changes ended, my body gave in. Down for the count. Stupid sinuses… BTW – Whole Foods chicken noodle soup = the bomb.com.
And other than me getting sick, there’s been one other casualty….
Poor Charlie. He’s just pooped.
So that’s where I’ve been! I’ll be back with the usual workout, running, recipe, and nutrition stuff! Hope you had a wonderful Monday Eat on the Runners.
Although moving can suck, what’s the one thing you enjoy from relocating?
