ABOUT
Hi! I’m Melissa and welcome to Eat on the Run.
I’m a 20 something dietetic intern with a passion for running, delicious food, and life. This website began as a healthy living blog, and while the blog component remains, I am happy to say that Eat on the Run has evolved into a platform where I can help people reach their nutrition and fitness goals.
My Background:
Health and nutrition were always an interest of mine and when presented the opportunity to major in nutrition at Penn State, I jumped on it. It has taken me down many different paths and I am now in my dietetic internship at The University of Maryland to become a registered dietitian.
Also, I have always been a huge Penn State fan and will travel to Happy Valley any chance I have! From 2011 to 2012, I worked as the Assistant Fitness Coordinator for Penn State Fitness and it was truly one of the best jobs I’ve ever had.
This love for fitness and health helped to cultivate a love for running. I began running half marathons in 2009 and haven’t looked back since.
My count is now 9 half marathons and 1 marathon. What’s next? Maybe a triathlon if I can learn how to swim! I offer up some running tips and even race recaps through the blog. It’s always a good time to remember the fun you can have putting one foot in front of the other.
Thanks for stopping by! I hope you will find Eat on the Run to be a useful source of nutrition information, fitness tips, and healthy recipes. Take a chance to look through some of my favorite recipes or allow me to help you reach your goals with any of my services. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me! I look forward to hearing from you!
